Bold and upfront flavours lie at the heart of Spanish cuisine and this is a recurring theme in our menus. Although we have always been proud to boast a 100% Spanish wine list, we are very aware that there is a "world of wine" out there and -put simply- we thought it would be fun to explore how Giselle's bold flavours work with other wines from around the globe.

After being approached by Jasmine (Giselle's daughter) with an idea for a wine pairing lunch (and who currently works for Majestic Wine in London), we decided to bring together a mother's cooking with a daughter's wines in this unique wine tasting & lunch. Jasmine has therefore selected five "big and bold" wines (3 white, 2 red) from the extensive Majestic portfolio that she hopes will both surprise and thrill us.

So join us for a special five-course tapas lunch with paired wines, from Giselle and Jasmine. It'll be a family affair!

Giselle has created a five-course lunch to showcase the wine, with each one introduced by Jasmine who will also help us explore the producers, regions and techniques hidden in each glass.

Jasmine Benrimoj

Many of you will recognise Jasmine as she was part of the Strawberry Tree project from the outset. In fact, it is probably fair to say that Jasmine's passion for good wine has it's roots in the Strawberry Tree wine list, which she helped us to curate over the last few years. In 2023 she started her official WSET wine training and in early 2025 joined Majestic in London to continue her career in the wine industry. Currently studying for her Level 3 WSET exams, we are delighted that Jas has agreed to come back to Strawberry Tree to co-host this special wine-tasting lunch. "I love the enormous diversity in the world of wine and the current trend to rediscover lesser-known varieties and regions. It's a truly exciting time to be trying something new", she says. "I'm really excited to be bringing some of these wines to Strawberry Tree".
