One of the most enjoyable ways to graze and eat - Basque style - in a buzzy and lively atmosphere.

What are Pintxos?

Pronounced ‘Pinchos’, they are typically finger-food, particularly popular in the Basque region of northern Spain (think San Sebastian or Bilbao), known for their creative and often elaborate combinations of ingredients. They are often served on skewers or toothpicks, and are typically eaten standing up in bars before lunch or dinner. The name "pintxo" comes from the Basque word meaning "spike" or "skewer," reflecting their frequent use of skewers to hold the ingredients together.

Book your table

Our Pintxos evenings are buzzy affairs! Eat as many or as few pintxos as you like - the idea is to graze the many plates of tapas on the bar counter - including a few sweet ones. Perhaps pair each one with a different wine from our list. Whatever you choose, you can expect a vibrant evening, full of great food and drink, in the wonderful setting that is Strawberry Tree. These evenings are really popular so booking a table is a good idea, although we also try to keep space for people that want to drop in. Call us on 01297 445757 or book online.
